oaks bottom wildlife refuge.

Hi,

Welcome to the first post of Beaverton Bird Blog!
This first post is about my birding trip to Oaks Bottom Wildlife Refuge in Portland.

Enjoy!

I saw CHESTNUT BACKED CHICKADEES! as well as black capped chickadees, A Song Sparrow, an Anna's hummingbird, (well, heard it at least :) ) and the place is infested with woolly bear caterpillars and red squirrels!
Unfortunately, I didn't have my camera with me at the time so I couldn't take any pictures.

Oh well. Anyway thanks for reading the first post of Beaverton Bird Blog.

Happy birding!

I look forward to checking back. I recently posted a photo of the Western Screech Owl on Greenway trail too. A friend took me there and we went to Koll Wetlands and saw the Otters. You can search otters on my blog and see them. Theya are so cute!
By the way, I work at the Backyard Bird Shop in Beaverton. You should stop in. I'm Michele. Maybe you are already a customer? Happy birding!

Oh, I forget to ask. Did you really see all those birds on your list in your yard? That is a great list!

Yes I have seen all of them from my backyard!(Not all of them have been actually IN my yard but all of them have been visible from the house).
Thats really cool that you have been to the Koll Wetlands! I've been there many times and seen many birds each time. Did you know that there is a Green Heron as well as Great Blue Heron there? There is also some Mink that live by our house! (also if you want to see an abandoned Beaver dam I can tell you where it is if you like). Also I've been seeing more Pine Siskins lately and a Golden crowned Sparrow just came in as well as a Mountain Chickadee which was a big suprise!
P.S. Yes I am already a customer.
I believe you have helped me and my mom a couple of times with several different feeders.

This is a beautifully designed site. The screech owl photo is my favorite. Thank you for adding beauty and joy to my day. I will visit again soon.
